COLLECTIONS AT THE STELLINE

European painting from the Eighties to the present. Works from Alessandro Grassi collection

Collections at the Stelline is the new cycle that opens the historical Palace, where Foundation is placed, to a substantive dialogue between private collections of contemporary art and public institutions, contributing at the same time to make the Stelline Foundation a living place for 365 days a year.
Twenty-three great works from Alessandro Grassi’s collection, selected to illustrate the theme of European painting from the 1980s to the present, find their new “home” at Stelline until 2012.
The Italian and European works of Grassi’s collection testifies to the richness of the art scene, stretching from the Transavanguardia movement to young Italian painters by way of the great international experimentalists.

Works by: Stefano Arienti; Guglielmo Aschieri; John Armleder; Pierpaolo Calzolari; Sandro Chia; Marco Cingolani; Enzo Cucchi; Walter Dahn; Mario Dellavedova; Marlene Dumas; Marta Dell'Angelo; Rainer Fetting; Mimmo Germaná; Karin Kneffel; Markus Lupertz; Milan Kunc; Margherita Manzelli; Gianmarco Montesano; Luca Pancrazzi; Andreas Schulze e Dirk Skreber.

At the Stelline bookshop you can find the catalogue (italian/english), with texts by the curator Pasquale Leccese and essays by Francesca Pasini “Contemporary Art and Urban Identity” and by Giorgio Verzotti, “The Grassi Collection”.
